Recycling paper to wapping gifts
I was happy to see the response to the covered jar lids and pencils post from a few days ago. It seems I am not the only one who saves paper scraps and needs a use for them. I have a few more projects up my sleeve here. First, I made some paper garlands which can be use for gift wrap or party decorations. Second, I made several different birthday cards all using cut paper collage. They go nicely together and make for a festive gift or party! When collecting papers, don’t overlook newspaper, wrapping paper, envelope liners, notebook and grid papers.

Fantasies of napkins tutorial
I really wanted to play with the wipes. And, frankly, the result of my very surprised and pleased. A man has been more frequently to compare me with Schroeder (paper shredders). :-)
So ...
To get started, you need to break in tiny pieces of tissue. Chunk size affects the outcome - then a matter of taste.

Tutorial: Pretty paints and the final DIY outcome!
Folding Paper Lanterns
I love this version of the project, with vertically hanging lanterns. Wouldn't these be pretty for wedding or shower decorations? This would also make a fun sleepover or birthday party project for tweens or teens.

How to make a chain flower
How To Make A Daisy Chain
Now, I gotta say right off - I might be really stepping in it here: writing a tutorial on how to write a tutorial?! Who do I think I am? Well, I'm just someone who loves and appreciates a good craft tutorial and would like to see more of them in the world!
I've been involved in craft blogging for 3½ years now and have seen many, many tutorials in the blog world; also, since starting The Crafty Crow two months ago, I have been on a one-woman mission looking at children's craft tutorials and have seen 100's just in the last few months. Besides writing my own tutorials here at Bella Dia, I've had experience in contributing patterns and instructions to books and all this leads me to tell you - a good tutorial takes a lot of work and is hard to do! So this tutorial about how to write a tutorial is well, double jeopardy?! Mostly, I am trying to share what I look for in a tutorial and what I think makes a good tutorial. I sure don't want to sound like I'm the know all end all here - it's just my opinion and what I've learned from my last few years of doing this.
So here goes!

How to paper christmas tree ornament
a paper christmas tree ornament
This as simple as it gets. A few scraps of paper, one seam and in minutes you’ve make a pretty, handmade ornament. I used paint chips (in lovely martha stewart colors) from the hardware store because I had them on hand, but cardstock or thin cardboard or old christmas cards would all work well.

Winter Crafts: Coffee Filter Snowflakes With A Message!
Coffee filters are great for crafting, and they also make perfect material for snowflakes, since they're already round! And while you're at it, grab some rubber alphabet stamps and some colorful ink pads and give your kids a spelling lesson while having fun too. I think the message on our snow flakes is mostly wishful thinking, since we are desperate for rain, but you never know! (Update: It is now pouring, yeah!)

A Festive Bunting From Your Punched Paper Leftovers!
Yes, quick paper bunting, or paper garlands, or party banners, in your favorite colors, made from what used to be garbage! But not anymore, right? Now you know better— never throw away the scraps from your punching adventures....you can use them to make a super quick and colorful bunting! And I'm sure you know this, but you don't need the excuse of a party to hang up colorful decorations, and especially now that it's the month of Adar, the most joyful month on the Jewish calender. And guess what, this year we have two Adars (it's leap year and we add an extra month) which gives us even more time for colorful crafting!

Paper Party Decorations : Adorable Bunting Banners Kids Can Make!
Kid craft project
Isn't this just too sweet? My five year old made it all by himself! And the uneven shapes and random placement make it all the more charming don't you think? A bunting banner like this one looks particularly endearing when on the small side, plus smaller shapes will be easier for little hands to manage, and certainly require less glue.
You'll Need:
- thread or string (we used fishing line, but it was hard to manage for my little one)
- colored paper
- a glue stick, and scissors
- a small flower punch (optional, but very cute!)

White Burlap Heart Wreath with TUTORIAL
Check out my door decor for Valentine's Day.V-day is one of my fav holidays, for real. You'll find out why a little later, in another post. Anyways, this is the project I'm doing with a craft group at church in a couple weeks. It's really easy and cheap to make. It only costs $3.50 to make one of these. And you can do it with red burlap as well for a fun look. I'm all about using different colors of burlap, can you tell?
Supplies
- Wire
- Burlap, about 1/3 yard
- Wire Cutters
- Pliers (optional)
- Scissors

Kids Valentine's Cards with the Cricut
Usually I like to post projects anyone can do, but this one is geared for Cricut owners. Since I'm very new to my Cricut I'm pretty well satisfied at this project because I created it all on my own! It turned out so cute I couldn't help but share it. I'm not sure how many of you have a Cricut or have access to a friends maybe but I really need to share this one! It could also be done with some stamps, scissors and a lot of patience.
Mine is the Cricut Personal cutter which takes 12x6 paper.
Rose Kissing Ball Tutorial
I was inspired by many different versions of kissing balls that I had seen, but my favorites have been the ones covered in roses. All of the directions I found for making the roses involved using hot glue to make the roses, and after a nasty burn, I decided to find a better way to make them.
